About Dawsons

Dawsons was established in 2006 by Veronica Dawson in Cincinnati, Ohio. One day, while working as a nurse at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center she noticed that the foam liners used in the hospital’s pneumatic tube system were thrown away when they became dirty or worn out, leaving the tube without protection for future specimens. Hospital employees would then resort to wrapping specimens in towels or other materials to pad them and protect them from harm.

Veronica came home from working and vented her frustrations to her husband, John, and mentioned the need for a better system. One in which the liners could be washed and would withstand wear and tear over time. John, who has been in the rubber business for over 50 years now, immediately got to work on creating a liner that would stand the test of time. Two days later he had a prototype that he could put to the test. When soaked in 100% Clorox there was no change to the integrity of the liner! After refining his product he met with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the liners we purchased and installed in their system.

Soon the customers were asking about other OEM parts that are used in the pneumatic tube system of Swisslog, Pevco, and Colombo. Dawsons now supplies hospitals with ramps, station bins, tubes, and liners made with a superior, proprietary material that they can depend on.
